Vision

• Establishing a dedicated facility with supportive biorepository intended to strengthen the research activity in ongoing anti TB and anti HIV drug discovery
• Compounds from plants, marine organisms and those from actinobacteria isolated from rare ecosystems will be taken to the forefront to be developed as anti TB and anti HIV drugs
• Molecular targets of M. tuberculosis and HIV will be identified and validated against which newer compounds will be tested
• The centre will provide a platform where all resources such as intellectual, scientific, industrial and pharmaceutical manpower of this country could work in a joint effort to realize the dream drug discovery for common man’s ailments.

Mission

• A centralized service facility for screening extracts/compounds for anti TB activity and anti HIV activity
• Molecules from plants, marine organisms and actinobacteria from rare ecosystems leading to creation of a drug library
• Novel drugs that will redefine the regimen for TB and HIV
• Drug target identification to strengthen drug discovery initiatives
• Develop know-how in In litero and in silico screening to enhance the pace of drug discovery by playing a pivotal role
